As always, the Mayfly team has been busy with behind the scenes research and preparation. This time, we’ve been honing our film and production skills to extend our service offering for science-based industries.

It’s no secret that Steve is an Environmental Scientist by qualification with a background in research, and has an enduring love of all things science and the natural world. His experience producing documentaries and editing for National Geographic films has strengthened his interest and skills in this area. 

With our Science and Technology film packages, we are now able to offer a tailored service for clients who a need to document research, build compelling cases/proof of concept for funding and approvals, and share research findings and knowledge with colleagues, supporters and other audiences near and far. 

Lexie says: For science-based operators, being able to demonstrate visually with real life examples can provide far more detail than written reports. Video is a growing medium in the field of research as it gets complex concepts across quickly. 

Steve says: For me, video in research can simplify reports and tone down the ‘boffinism’. By separating out the tech talk and distilling information for the purpose of visual storytelling, the potential reach, impact and real-life applications are far greater.
