The Enemy Within

We teamed up with Simone Dowding of the Blessed Bean to shoot her short film developed for Waggafest about local sportsman Joe Williams and his battles with depression and suicide, to raise awareness of mental health. 

Mayfly volunteered time, equipment and other resources to manage the production of the film ensuring the final result was true to Simone’s vision, Joe Williams’ story and was a vehicle that could inspire and challenge our community with a story of choice and hope.

Being involved in projects that connect with our community brings great rewards, and allows us to also explore different content. Between the time lapse and project capture of the Yellow Submarine and the documentary style of ‘The Enemy Within’, we were able to show different aspects of our work and meet some fantastic members of the community we live in.
